Jared's Amiibo Smack down Guidelines

Amiibo Smack Down S1 (Jared)

The Rules:

Hello, and welcome to the official season 1 Amiibo Smackdown. My name is Jared, and I will be taking you through this journey to see which of my 21 amiibos will prove themselves worthy. I have split them into three groups of seven. There will be three phases in each group followed by a Sudden Death round. The first phase will consist of a round robin between the members within each group. The winner of that, is safe to advance into the next round. The remaining six will split up into two teams of three. The winning team will be safe to advance. The final three will have a free for all, and the winner of that gets to go on. The bottom two will be sent to the Death Match, where they duke it out in a free for all. Only the winner of that match, will advance.

The Banned:

There are two amiibos I have excluded from these games. These two are Shulk and Little Mac. To put it simply, these two are far too overpowered to be competing. Little Mac is able to forward smash until he breaks shield consistently, leaving his matches no fun to even watch. Shulk has the same complex. I've seen him get a 0 to death in just one counter. In terms of stats, these two blow everyone else out of the water, even Dr. Mario, who's my current 3rd place. Perhaps I will include them in future tournaments, but as of now, these two stay out.

That being said, let's meet our groups!

The Groups

Group 1:

Thoughts:

I kid you not, I did not intend on having all the mii fighters in the same group, that was simply chance. I think Roy has it pretty easy in this grouping, I can confidently guess he'll make it out of phase one. As for bottom two, I'd have to say Mii Sword has a good chance of going down, as does Gunner. I wouldn't be too surprised if Villager ends up slipping as well. It'll be interesting to see what happens after phase one.

Zero Suit Samus

Nickname: Felicia

Overview: Zero Suit has never been that great. Since the start, she's struggled against every amiibo. Yes, even Yoshi. She's remained bottom since I bought and trained her. I believe she was the first amiibo I properly trained too, so I expected a bit more from her performance. But alas, someone must be garbage. She doesn't consistently win against any of my other amiibos, and in some cases, she has yet to win.

Observations: I can't really tell you why Zero Suit is as bad as she is. She knows her kill options, she doesn't do anything wrong, she just loses. The only reason I can think off the top of my head is that  she sometimes struggles with killing. She'll use down special when she doesn't need to and it doesn't help she doesn't have any kill throws, though I rarely see her use them anyway. Overall, I'd say this amiibo is lower on the ranking scale as far as raw talent.
